Dude! also known as the random update post.

-So I just found out that podcasts are free! That is so cool. ::runs off to download::

-I watched the cast of Brokback Mountain on Oprah, and can I just say that Jake is my new actor guy. He's really cute.

-You know the OMG!HE!DIED! Smallville episode? It was actually good. I was quite suprised. I havn't really liked Smallville since season 1 and 2, and that episode was good. Even my mom liked it, and she only watches it because my dad hogs the TV and makes her watch it.

-Can I just say that I love Marsters wank. It cracks me up. For the record I think this whole new gig think is a hoax. If it isn't, I'll have to deny ever being his fan because there is no defending that.

-I'm also posting so that I can see my Lizzy and Darcy icon. GIP!! I wish I could post the music to that moment too...::loves::

It's some series called Starfighters or something like that. It seems to be a huge fake. Here is a link to Cold Dead Seed. They seem to have all the details. http://www.forum.colddeadseed.com/viewtopic.php?t=943

Well, when I followed the link to the IMDb entry about it, I did recognize one name in the production side (I think he was listed as a director)... Sam Longoria. He's a big-time SF&F fan, though this doesn't necessarily disqualify him from participating in something real... he's done work for Lucasfilm and for Paramount and on various movies and quite a bit of work with Firesign Theatre. I don't know if you've ever been to the SF&F Symposium at BYU, but he's been a guest there a number of times.

However, I still think it all points to, well, not necessarily a hoax, but probably some form of online RPG type thing. A game made to look real.

Maybe hoax is too strong a word, but I still love the wangst.

I never went to the symposium. I always wanted too (nerd), but never did.

I actually ran the Symposium back in 1990 (LTUE IX). It was fun, exhausting and stressful... but I'm really glad I did it.

I'm a bit bummed I'm not going to be able to go again this year... but it's in just a few weeks and I'm still not in any shape to travel yet.
